This week’s challenge was an easy one because we were in Manteo, North Carolina on the Outer Banks this weekend, celebrating my sister-in-law’s birthday. We stayed at the Tranquil House Inn, a lovely place on the water, and I was able to get some good pictures of reflections right in the vicinity of the inn.

Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the
shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside
and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
Glad you shared, Healthy Living. I’m still laughing. Um…but why are we laughing that this little girl got pinched by a hermit crab? Oh, yeah…we’re parents. LOL
Gorgeous. I love these liquid reflections.
Thanks, Lori. The water was like glass that morning.
Dear Susan, I have the Super Sweet Blogging Award waiting over here for you when you have time. No obligation. http://poetrypatio.wordpress.com/2012/12/06/community-awards/
Joyful and peaceful reflections. A perfect image we all hope to have this CHristmas! Happy Holidays!
Yes, Traveler. Peace to you and yours.
You nailed the challenge, Susan, these are great mirror reflections. We’ve never stayed in Manteo, but have been there a couple times. Tranquil is a good description of the area.
Thanks, Patti. Manteo is such a pretty little town.
Amazing shots, Susan! Beautiful reflections, Wow!
Thanks, Amy. It was even more beautiful in person.
Beautiful! Have missed seeing your photos. These are incredible. Thanks for sharing them. DAF
Thanks, DAF. I had an easy photo challenge this week because of our trip.
These are gorgeous, Susan. Makes me wish I could step right into the pictures. š
Thanks, Robin. You live in such a beautiful area, but I have to drive a ways to get quaintness. I love Virginia Beach, but quaint it is not.
Beautiful reflections, Susan. I am a mountain gal but I tell you, your pictures make me miss the water. š
We’re going to have to get you out here, Stacia, to see our water in person. I’ve only been to the Rockies once, when my parents gave me a week’s ski trip in Colorado one Christmas break during college. It was gorgeous.
Talk about mirror images! These are all so wonderful!
The light in the first photo is so well captured, too. š
Thanks, House. It was taken just before the sun set, and the light was just perfect. I was lucky.
Beautiful photos. Looks like a great place to visit. š
Thanks, E.C. And it’s less than two hours away.
Wow! These are really beautiful shots!
Thanks, Dor. You can’t help but get great shots in Manteo. Such a charming little town on Roanoke Island.
ooo– you folks are enjoying some beautiful reflections. You must visit Dianna’s post this morning too which shows reflections on the water by night.
These are perfect in very still waters. Beautiful photos, Susan. I love the signs of Christmas with the wreaths on the white inn’s door and by the windows–then the red bows on the boat. Have a wonderful week!
Thanks, Georgette. I’m going to pop on over to Dianna’s blog and see her picture.
These are great, Susan. Looks like a charming place.
You and Patty would love it, Al. It’s less than two hours away.
Isn’t Manteo just a beautiful little town?? Great pictures; great reflections!
Thanks, Dianna. Yes, we love that little town. I think this is the third or fourth time we’ve stayed at the Tranquil House Inn. It’s very tranquil.
Simply beautiful. I was going to say I love the 1st one best, however when I went back for a second look I couldn’t decide…they are all equally beautiful. Love the red bows.
I was happy when I saw what the challenge was this week, Life. And the weather cooperated by being so beautiful so that the water was smooth as glass.
