Weekly Photo Challenge: Numbers

Seagulls on First Landing Beach where the Chesapeake Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean

About Coming East

I am a writer, wife, mother, and grandmother who thinks you're never too old until you're dead. My inspiration is Grandma Moses who became a successful artist in her late 70's. If I don't do something pretty soon, though, I'll have to find someone older for inspiration.

After reading your Freshly Pressed post (congratulations, by the way) and seeing this picture, I suddenly want to live by the ocean!

  3. Oh how I wish I lived in a place with a view like this one. How blessed you are! Gorgeous.

Awesome photo! And I love how it’s numbers without actual numbers!

I think this one should be framed – it is so cool!

Great pic Susan. Love a beach deserted of people but full of birds.

    Very cool pic.

  8. What a cool picture! Sometimes we have this huge flock of birds land in our backyard (we live in basically a huge field) and I can never seem to get a chance to snap a pic before they hear me creeping and fly off.

The pelicans are very shy at the beach and fly off as soon as I approach, but the seagulls are territorial and just stay put, moving over just a little bit for me to walk around them.

Wonderful! Have you counted them yet? 🙂

No, but funny thing about this photo. I had my head down and was just walking slowly along the shoreline, looking for shells, and I kept walking and walking and walking, never raising my head. When I looked up, I was confronted by this host of seagulls (there were pelicans, too, but in another photo) and felt like I had wandered into a scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds!

  10. What a fabulous photo!! I love it!
