This weekend we visited my husband’s brother and his wife in south Florida. My brother-in-law has always been a handsome guy, just like my husband, but over the years, the two of them have put on a few extra pounds, especially around the middle. Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m in that boat, too. So when my brother-in-law greeted us at the door and we beheld his slimmed down, sleek physique, we had to know what his secret was. My sister-in-law said they both had been on the juicing diet. She’s been telling us about it for some time now, but when we witnessed the results, we started asking more questions.
“You need to watch Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead,” my brother-in-law said. “You’ll have that juicer out as soon as you get home.” Saturday evening the four of us sat down to watch the movie. We just needed a little snack to go with our viewing.
Yep, yep – ice cream. Now that’s a good diet. Juice? Nah!
I’ve not seen the movie, nor have I juiced and not sure I have the willpower to do it. But I love the pic of the ice cream and I know I could do the ice cream for sure.
I’m with you, Julie!
I can’t give up ice cream either. And I’m with Julia, once it melts, it’s juice!
Then that makes three of us, Leah!
Cherry Garcia is my favorite. Never saw that movie, but my husband is juicing (I’m eating ice-cream). Actually he’s juicing and sneaking food whenever possible, but at least he’s trying. It’s better than I”m doing. 😉
LOL, DF! My husband will probably do the same, if I try this juicing diet. We’re actually considering doing a modified form: juice for breakfast and lunch, and then a light dinner. After seeing what his brother looked like, my husband is finally determined to lose the gut! His brother’s appearance works so much better than my cajoling.
How about an ice-cream diet? I could do that diet.
I think your Dad and Uncle Tony could, too!
Geez, juicing itself sounds like so much work. 🙂 I vote for the idea of putting the ice cream in a juicer and pretending it’s good for me!!
That’s got my vote, too, Dawn!
How about a picture of the svelte brother in law? That will help us decide if we want to give up our ice cream or not. (or in my case, soy cream)
I’m not sure any amount of pictures can get me to give up Cherry Garcia, HG.
Now I want some ice cream! Hah!
Yeah, me, too, WS. Don’t think I stand a chance of sticking to a juice diet.
ha! Wait, so if you “juice” the ice cream and make a milkshake, does that count?
Wow, Single Cell, I never thought of that! Great idea! I’m sure it counts.
I can’t give up my ice cream, so I don’t think a juicing diet is for me. I could try smaller bowls of ice cream, though. That might help!
Sure, Shary. That will work. Multiple small bowls.
I don’t understand, isn’t that a picture of the juice diet? ;D
Absolutely, Julia! At least the juice diet I subscribe to. There are cherries in Cherry Garcia. Cherries are fruit. Ergo, they qualify.
I’m guessing the contents of those cartons isn’t frozen veggie juice…
I’m also guessing the remarkable change in the guy in the movie came about because he exercised too.
Oh, you mean there’s work involved, Margie? LOL!
